FIFA Club World Cup 2025: All teams eliminated from group stage

Atletico Madrid and FC Porto among big names to fall short in group stage.

The top two teams from every group will go on to seal a spot in the last 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup. But the bottom two clubs from every group will be knocked out of the mega competition.

With a few group stage games still left, there are teams which have no chance to making it to the round of 16 of the tournament this time around. This is the new and improved version of the Club World Cup, where a total of 32 teams are battling for the mega prize.

But as the group stage fixtures are coming to a close, only 16 teams will be left going forward in the tournament.

The Elimination of LaLiga side Atletico Madrid came as a shock. Diego Simeone’s men did win a couple of games, but it was not enough in the end and due to a specific margin in the goal difference, Atleti will no longer be part of the mega competition.

Eight teams have already locked their spots in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and the remaining spots will soon be filled. The upcoming games are going to be intense.

There is still a tough fight going on in all of the remaining group stage fixtures and it will be interesting to see which team will outplay the other to reach the knockout stage of the mega competition.

Many teams which could’ve done better have come up with lacklustre performances, due to which they have not been able to seal a spot in the last 16. FC Porto, Al Ahly and Seattle Sounders are the teams that failed to win any of their group stage games.

The Brazilian side Palmeiras has topped group A and they will face second-placed Botafogo of Group B in an all-Brazilian showdown of round of 16 showdown.

The Ligue 1 giants and the European Champions, PSG have topped Group B and they will take on Inter Miami, who came second in Group A.
