The FIFA World Cup 2026 group stage is nearing its end, with three groups being decided after three double-headers on June 24. Canada took on Switzerland, and Bosnia and Herzegovina faced Qatar, with the results dictating the final standings of Group B.
Switzerland secured a nervy 2-1 win over Canada in their final match. As a result, the Schweizer-Nati leapfrogged the Canucks and finished top of the group. The co-hosts, meanwhile, had to settle for second place.
Bosnia and Herzegovina, meanwhile, beat Qatar 3-1. Kerim Alajbegovic and Ermin Mahmic scored to seal a big win for the Dragons, but it was not enough for them to ensure qualification. With four points, they finished third in the group.
2022 hosts Qatar, meanwhile, finished bottom of the group with just one point, which they got in a 1-1 draw with Switzerland in their opening match.

Which teams qualified for knockouts from Group B?
Switzerland and Canada have ensured their qualification for the Round of 32, having finished in the top two spots in the group stage. Switzerland will face a third-placed team in the next stage, with the match taking place on July 2 in Vancouver. Canada, meanwhile, will face the Group A winners on June 28 in Los Angeles.
Bosnia and Herzegovina will now face a nervy wait to see if they are among the eight best third-placed teams that will progress to the knockout stages. That said, having four points puts them in a really favourable position to qualify. However, this is subject to change depending on how the other groups shape up.
Qatar, meanwhile, have been eliminated for the second consecutive World Cup.
