Switzerland, Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina are going to the round of 32 from this group.

The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup is now going to transition into the knockout stages. The final games of the group stage are now in contention, and it will be interesting to see which teams are good enough to secure a spot in the last 32.

Many groups are still quite open and only the final matches of this stage will decide who are going to come up and qualify for the knockout stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. All of the sides are giving their all on the grandest stage of them all.

In the final games of Group B, Canada took on Switzerland and Qatar battled it out against the Bosnia & Herzegovina national football team. They were quite entertaining games to look at and it has given us some insights ahead of the knockout stages.

Things we learned

1. Switzerland are one of the dark horses

The Switzerland national football team have now secured back-to-back wins in the FIFA World Cup 2026. They opened the campaign with a draw against Qatar. The Nati then worked on their strategies. They then defeated Bosnia & Herzegovina by 4-1 and Canada by 2-1. Switzerland are now looking in great touch and can also threaten the top-tier teams with their efforts.

2. Golden generation delivers for Canada

The Canadian men’s national soccer team are also one of the teams from Group B to secure a berth in the knockout stages. They are one of the co-hosts and their fans will surely be happy with their performances. Jesse Marsch’s men are going to gear up for the last 32 now.

They secured a draw against the Dragons in the opening game. Then they came up with a dominating 6-0 win against Qatar. In their final game, they almost secured a point against Switzerland, but lost the game 1-2.

3. Bosnia & Herzegovina have hope

The Dragons came up with underwhelming performances in their first two games of the FIFA World Cup 2026. They were held to a draw by one of the co-hosts, Canada, in their first match and then were completely outplayed by Switzerland in the second.

Their performance in the final group stage game against Qatar was quite good. They simply gave a message of being more than capable of securing a round of 32 spot.

4. Reality check for Qatar

With their 1-1 draw in their opening game against Switzerland, the Maroons looked like a strong side. They then faced a dominating defeat against Canada and were outplayed by Bosnia & Herzegovina in their final game. The Qatar national football team, with these performances are not quite ready to be on the world stage at the moment. They lack squad quality.

5. Teams from Group B ready to make noise

Switzerland, Canada and Bosnia & Herzegovina are the teams going to the round of 32 of the FIFA World Cup 2026 from Group B. They are ready to come up with top-of-the-line performances going forward. It will now be interesting to look at their efforts under pressure.
