Brazil and Morocco have secured qualification from Group C.

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is nearing the conclusion of its group stage, with the final round being played in simultaneous double headers across four days. Brazil faced Scotland in a cracking match, while Morocco welcomed Haiti on June 24, with the results dictating the final standings of Group C.

Brazil sealed a thumping 3-0 win over Scotland to clinch the top spot in the group. Vinicius Jr got a brace and had a goal ruled out by VAR, while Matheus Cunha netted the third. More importantly, Neymar made an appearance for the Selecao – his first in the tournament.

The demoralising defeat left the Tartan Army third in the table on three points, earned through a narrow win over Haiti in their opening clash.

In the other fixture, Morocco survived a massive scare to clinch a 4-2 win over Haiti. Les Grenadiers took the lead twice in the match, courtesy of an own goal by Yassine Bounou and a fine finish from Wilson Isidor. However, strikes from Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Soufiane Rahimi, and Gessime Yassine sealed a victory for the Atlas Lions.

The result meant that the African side remained in second place in the table, tied on seven points with Brazil but with a slightly worse goal difference. Meanwhile, Haiti, who returned to the quadrennial tournament after 52 years, finished bottom of the table with no points.

Brazil and Morocco have secured qualification for the newly established Round of 32 stage, having finished in the top two spots in the group stage.

The Selecao will face the Group F runners-up on June 29 in Houston. Morocco, meanwhile, finished in second place and will take on the Group F winners on June 29 in Guadalajara.

Despite finishing outside the top two spots, Scotland remain in the hunt for a spot in the knockouts. They will have to wait to see if they are among the eight best third-placed teams that progress to the next stage. With three points on the board, they have a decent chance of qualification, as things stand. However, their qualification chances are subject to change based on the overall results in the other groups.

Haiti, meanwhile, are out of the tournament having failed to open their account in the group stage. However, the Caribbean nation impressed with their performance, conceding just once against Scotland and pushing Morocco until the very end in tonight’s game.
