The FIFA World Cup 2026 has entered the knockout stages, with the Round of 32 fixtures underway. Brazil took on Japan in a feisty knockout clash at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas, on June 29, with the Selecao sealing a hard-fought 2-1 win.
The Samurai Blue took the lead in the 29th minute, with Kaishu Sano scoring after a brilliant darting run. However, the five-time champions equalised just before the hour mark after a header from Casemiro. Gabriel Martinelli sealed the win for the Selecao with a fine finish in the 96th minute.
