Les Bleus will compete against Senegal in their opening game of the mega competition.

The Didier Deschamps-led side are now training hard for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The final list of players to represent the France national football team was unveiled on May 14.

Ahead of the flagship tournament, Les Bleus will be contesting two friendlies. They are set to take on Ivory Coast on June 4 and will then have a face-off against Northern Ireland on June 8. It is going to be a perfect opportunity for them to keep their positive momentum alive.

France recently took down Brazil and Colombia in their last two friendly matches. They have been performing well and are showing no signs of slowing. Les Bleus are going with a star-studded lineup on the world stage.

They won their last World Cup in 2018 and then finished second in 2022 after losing the final against Lionel Messi’s Argentina. The France national football team is one of the favourites to win the upcoming edition of FIFA’s flagship tournament.

The only issues they can face are some players who are reportedly dealing with injuries.

As per some recent reports, Arsenal’s William Saliba is suffering from a back issue and has gone for scans to determine the seriousness of the condition. Due to this, he could be sidelined from the FIFA World Cup 2026.

France’s head coach Didier Deschamps has responded to the media about the reports, where he ensured that, “He’s (William Saliba) here. Everything is fine.”

The centre-back is a major part of Les Bleus’ defence. His absence is not going to be beneficial for the two-time world champions.

The France national football team is placed in Group I along with the likes of Senegal, Iraq and Erling Haaland’s Norway. With a star-studded lineup, Deschamps might not have much issues to get past the group stage, but the mega competition is also known for the biggest upsets. The Frenchmen must not take their opponents lightly.
