France faces Euro 2024 hosts Germany
France football team coach Didier Deschamps has named his squad for the upcoming March international friendlies against Germany and Chile.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 runners-up will head into the upcoming UEFA Euro 2024 with a lot of confidence. They are one of the favourites to lift the title.
Deschamps has named a strong squad for the preparations of the major tournament. However, the manager has to deal with the injury blow of Kingsley Coman. Moussa Diaby gets a call-up for the first time since last December. Christopher Nkunku is another big injury absentee along with PSG’s upcoming youngster, Bradley Barcola.
William Saliba is also included in the 23-man list with the Arsenal centre-back preferred over Chelsea counterpart Axel Disasi. Saliba is on the top of his game for the Gunners. His form has allowed the North London club to lead the league standings and advance to the last eight in the UEFA Champions League.
Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot was included despite recently injuring the big toe on his left foot. He resumed training on Monday.
Didier Deschamps has a lot of young players at his disposal. These talented French players have gained plenty of experience at the top level.
The Les Bleus will face Euro 2024 hosts Germany in Lyon on March 23 before taking on Chile three days later in Marseille. At Euro 2024 in Germany, two-time champion France is in Group D with Austria, the Netherlands, and a playoff winner.
