Brazil beat England 1-0 in a friendly game
Prior to their pivotal Premier League matchup with Arsenal, Kyle Walker of Manchester City suffered an injury during England’s match against Brazil. Walker appeared to have a hamstring issue and was replaced during the first half of Saturday’s friendly at Wembley.
On Sunday, City and Arsenal will play one other in the Premier League title match at the Etihad Stadium. Liverpool will also be competing. Walker was substituted in the 20th minute of the England vs. Brazil match after being named captain of the team. After racing back to push Vinícius Júnior’s goal-bound attempt off the line, he seemed to sustain an injury.
“We don’t know [how serious it is],” England manager Gareth Southgate told reporters after the game, which Brazil won 1-0. “He’s not had many injuries so he’s not sure if it’s just tightness or something more serious. We’ll know more over the next few days.”
Walker was able to catch up and stop Brazil from taking the lead before the Real Madrid forward’s strike beat Jordan Pickford.
Shortly after receiving care for his injured left leg, Walker, 33, attempted to resume his activities with the assistance of England’s medical personnel.

After eight more minutes of play, he eventually hobbled off and was replaced by Aston Villa defender Ezri Konsa. Endrick, a 17-year-old, gave Brazil the lead in the 80th minute and they never looked back.
Next up for England is a Tuesday match at Wembley versus Belgium, with the Premier League returning the following weekend.Walker might miss Manchester City’s match against Arsenal, which would be devastating. The right-back has been playing well for Pep Guardiola’s team, who have four important games left in April: against Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Aston Villa.
This season, the 33-year-old has made 26 appearances in the Premier League, aiding Manchester City in their pursuit of another championship. Walker’s issue should not be too serious, Pep Guardiola hopes, ahead of Arsenal and the Premier League title match the following weekend.
