Germany predicted lineup for Hungary clash in Euro 2024; Kai Havertz to lead the line
Die Mannschaft secured a dominant win in the opening match
Germany started their Euro reign with an impressive victory against Scotland in the opening match. They remain the favourites to progress from the group after making an excellent start. The teenage sensation Jamal Musiala and Florian Wirtz were particularly impressed on the big stage as they made their debut in a major tournament for the first time together.
Julian Nagelsmann has assembled an impressive eleven who look set to play a big role. Die Mannschaft will now face Hungary in the second and a victory here confirms their place in the next round of the tournament.
Germany predicted lineup (Formation: 4-2-3-1)
GK: Manuel Neuer
Manuel Neuer had a comfortable day in the office as the Scots failed to have any shot on target. His distribution was spot on as he had a 90% passing accuracy. He was unfortunate to lose the clean sheet after an own goal from Rüdiger gave the visitors hope. Neuer has smashed over 120 appearances for the national team since breaking into the side in 2009. Neuer brings composure in the back and is excellent at making crucial saves for the team.
RB: Joshua Kimmich
Joshua Kimmich predominantly plays as a central midfielder but is equally adept at playing as a right-back. He had an outstanding match against Scotland as he provided an assist for Jamal Musiala in the first half. Kimmich also created four chances in the match as he put in an excellent shift in both halves. He also had a 100 per cent record in tackles while also making 4 recoveries in the match.
CB: Antonio Rüdiger
Antonio Rüdiger had an excellent game apart from the goal which he scored. He has developed an excellent partnership with Tah at the heart of defense. He helped Real Madrid win the Champions League and La Liga playing a crucial role. He does not shy away from taking on challenges after limiting the Scots strikers from having any chance in the opening match. He is equally adept at playing out from the back.
CB: Jonathan Tah
Jonathan Tah had a good outing against Scotland in the opening match. He along with Rüdiger were not much troubled as they dominated them from the very start.
He had a 100 per cent aerial duel record after winning all of them. He had a successful season with Bayer Leverkusen where they won the league and DFB Pokal with him being a key member in the defence. Tah is a physical defender who does not shy away from making challenges.

LB: Maximilian Mittelstädt
Maximilian Mittelstädt has emerged as one of the best left-backs in the Bundesliga after a successful season with Stuttgart as he finished the season with 2 goals and 4 assists. He had an excellent match against Scotland where he constantly bombarded forward to join in attacks. Mittelstädt created two chances for the team in the last match as he continued his impressive run with the National team.
CM: Toni Kroos
Toni Kroos put in a masterclass in the middle of the park for the team as he played his usual game dictating the tempo of the game while also making some excellent diagonal passes to the wingers. He finished the match with a passing accuracy of 99 per cent after attempting 101 passes.
Kroos also made 7 recoveries in the match to help out the defense. The decision to come out of retirement has proved to be a wise decision as Germany is looking strong with him in the team.
CM: Pascal Gross
Pascal Gross replaced Andrich in the second half as Nagelsmann didn’t want to take any risk after he picked a yellow card in the first half. and his decision proved to be a good one as Gross put on a shift in the second half playing neat passes and keeping things simple in the middle of the park as he controlled the tempo of the game. Now, he has the chance to lead the team in this match as a win here will secure their place in the next match.
RW: Jamal Musiala
Jamal Musiala deservedly won the man of the match against Scotland after playing a key role in the victory. He was a menace to them as his trickery and pace caused plenty of problems for them. He made 32 successful passes and had 100 per cent passing accuracy in the match. He combined well with Wirtz and Havertz and their linkup at times was breathtaking to watch. He will be crucial to Germany going forward in the competition.
AM: Ilkay Gundogan
The Barcelona man skippers the national team as he leads the team in the Euro 2024. Gundogan had a wonderful outing against the Scots as it was the challenge against him that led to the penalty and sending off the Scot defender. Nagelsmann will be delighted that he didn’t suffer any injury as it would have been a huge loss for them. Gundogan had a wonderful season with Barcelona as he netted 5 goals and added another 9 assists to help Barcelona secure the second spot.
LW: Florian Wirtz
Florian Wirtz had an outstanding match against Scotland where he opened the scoring with a well-taken goal from the edge of the box after Kimmich’s wonderful pass to find him. He could have added another one in the first half after volleying a first-time effort over the bar. Wirtz linked up with Gundogan and Musiala to lead the German’s attack in the opening match. After a wonderful season with Bayer Leverkusen, he is set to play a crucial role for the national team in this tournament.
ST: Kai Havertz
Kai Havertz had an impressive outing in the opening match against Scotland where he was a constant thorn in the opposition’s halves as they found him difficult to mark. His movements particularly created a lot for them.
Havertz’s performance was capped off by a goal which he undoubtedly scored in the penalty sending the keeper the wrong way. He had an incredible season with Arsenal scoring 14 goals in all competitions while also providing 7 assists.
