Die Mannschaft are seeking back-to-back wins in the World Cup in tonight’s match.
Germany take on Ivory Coast in their second Group E match of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2026 at BMO Field in Toronto on June 20. After a goal-fest in their opener against Curacao, the four-time champions can progress to the Round of 32 with a positive result tonight.
Die Mannschaft thrashed the debutants Curacao in their first match, winning 7-1. Felix Nmecha, Nico Schlotterbeck, Kai Havertz, Jamal Musiala, Nathaniel Brown, and Deniz Undav all got their names on the scoresheet, but Manuel Neuer could not secure a clean sheet due to Livano Comenencia’s goal.
After consecutive group-stage exits in 2018 and 2022, Julian Nagelsmann’s side are in a favourable position to finish top of the group and secure progression, joining the USA and Mexico in the knockout stage. They will go toe-to-toe against an Ivorian side who beat Ecuador 1-0 in their opener.

Despite conceding on his international return, Manuel Neuer keeps his place between the sticks. Joshua Kimmich starts at right-back, with last match’s goalscorer Nathaniel Brown starting on the left. Jonathan Tah and Nico Schlotterbeck form the centre-back pairing.
Borussia Dortmund man Felix Nmecha anchors the midfield along with Bayern Munich youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic. Leroy Sane, coming off a good season with Galatasaray, starts on the right wing. Jamal Musiala has returned to his best form and starts in the number 10 role. Florian Wirtz will keep his place on the left wing.
Deniz Undav has been in sublime scoring form for club and country, finding the back of the net against Curacao. However, Nagelsmann starts with his preferred Kai Havertz as the lone striker, with the Arsenal player scoring 24 goals for the national team. However, the Stuttgart forward will come on in the second half.
