Ghana predicted lineup for FIFA World Cup 2026 ft. Inaki Williams & Jordan Ayew

The Black Stars to face Panama in their opening World Cup 2026 group stage game.

The Ghana national football team are on a poor run of form ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. They have lost four of their last five matches. They will be under pressure for their first group stage outing against Panama on June 17.

They have already contested their two friendlies ahead of the mega competition. They first fell prey to Mexico and were then held to a draw by Wales. Their current form is concerning for them.

Carlos Queiroz will be looking to work on the strategies. They will first aim to get past the group stage. The best performance of the Ghana national football team came during the 2010 edition of the FIFA World Cup when they reached the quarterfinal.

The Black Stars are most likely to come up with a classic 4-3-3 lineup.

Ghana predicted XI (4-3-3)

GK: Lawrence Ati-Zigi – FC St. Gallen

The 29-year-old is going to be the first-choice goalkeeper for the Ghana national football team. He has come up with regular performances in the Swiss Super League this season. He secured the Swiss Cup title.

He has nine clean sheets in 37 games in the ongoing campaign.

RB: Alidu Seidu – Stade Rennais

He is a versatile star and is capable of playing across the back line. Alidu Seidu has impressed in Ligue 1 this season with his athleticism and defensive discipline. He is capable of shutting down players on the right flank, making him a first-choice right back for the Black Stars.

CB: Jerome Opoku – İstanbul Başakşehir

The 27-year-old is going to be a dependable defender for the Ghana national football team. Jerome Opoku has done a decent job in the Turkish Süper Lig this season. He will now be looking to come up with top-of-the-line performances for the Black Stars.

CB: Alexander Djiku – Spartak Moscow

He recently faced an injury during the 2025-26 campaign, but is now fully fit. Djiku is going to play a crucial role in the backline for Ghana.

Alexander Djiku will be a strong leader in the defence for his national team. The 31-year-old is calm and composed during tense situations. With his experience, Djiku is surely going to be a big addition.

LB: Gideon Mensah – AJ Auxerre

CM: Thomas Partey – Villarreal CF

The 32-year-old is the heart of the midfield for the Ghana national football team for quite a while now. He has made 57 appearances for the Black Stars and has scored 15 goals in total. From controlling the midfield to contributing in the attacking front, Thomas Partey is going to play a major role for his side.

CM: Kwasi Sibo – Real Oviedo

Even though Real Oviedo have been demoted to the Spanish second division, Kwasi Sibo has found his way in the final 26-man squad of Ghana for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Although his presence in the final third is not very prominent, Sibo is great at winning the ball back for his team. The 27-year-old complements Partey’s style of play and can be a good choice to start.

CAM: Jordan Ayew – Leicester City

The experienced star competes in the second division of English football. He is most likely to captain the Ghana national football team. With his leadership skills, he is going to be one of the main men in the squad at the grandest stage of them all.

He can contribute to both assists and goals. Jordan Ayew, with his experience, will be an important part of his national team.

RW: Abdul Fatawu Issahaku – Leicester City

Abdul Fatawu Issahaku is considered one of the brightest young talents from Ghana. He is good at dribbling. With his creative plays, he has been a threat to the opponents’ defence in the EFL Championship.

The 22-year-old has only scored three goals for the Black Stars. Still, he will have a major role to play in the attacking plans under Carlos Queiroz.

CF: Iñaki Williams – Athletic Bilbao

LW: Antoine Semenyo – Manchester City

Antoine Semenyo has been in a top run of form in the Premier League this season. He will now be looking to come up with top performances on the world stage. He is going to be a constant threat on the left flank.

Semenyo is capable of scoring goals and can also create plays for his fellow attackers. The 26-year-old will be the first-choice left-winger for the Ghana national football team.
