The Black Stars will lock horns with the Three Lions.
Ghana will lock horns with England in the first-ever competitive fixture between the two nations at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The last fixture between these two teams was played in March 2011. It ended in a 1-1 draw.
Ghana appointed the veteran manager, Carlos Queiroz, in April to lead them through the 2026 World Cup. The experienced coach has managed the likes of Real Madrid and the Portugal national team in the past. With this appointment, Queiroz made history as he became only the second manager to appear in five consecutive FIFA World Cups.
Ghana were struggling since the tail end of last year. They were on a five-game losing streak before the arrival of Queiroz. In his first two games in charge, the legend has led the African Nation to a 1-1 draw against Wales in an international friendly. Then, a 1-0 win over Panama in their opening game of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
A positive result against England will most likely secure their place in the Round of 32 of the competition. They have a perfect blend of youth and experience among their ranks. They could pull off an upset against the Three Lions.
