Brazil has never lost against Scotland in the FIFA World Cup history.

Brazil defeated Steve Clarke’s Scotland 3-0 at Miami Gardens on Wednesday, June 24, in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and the win has given the Seleção a lot of momentum. Carlo Ancelotti’s side got their much-needed statement win, and Neymar finally made his return to the global stage after almost two years.

Real Madrid forward Vinicius Jr broke the deadlock in the seventh minute, courtesy of an assist from Rayan. Later, he completed his brace in the final moments of the first half (45+3′). He also made the most touches in the opposition box (13), took the most shots (8), and completed the most dribbles (5).

Vinícius Júnior has also joined Brazilian icons Jairzinho (1970), Romário (1994), Ronaldo (2002), and Rivaldo (2002) as the fifth Brazilian player to score in all three group-stage games at a single Men’s World Cup.

Mathues Cunha later scored Brazil’s third goal of the night with the help of a beautiful assist from Bruno Guimarães. Meanwhile, Guimarães also recorded two assists.

The five-time champions looked scary against the Tartan Army as they put up a spectacle. But the question here is, have they qualified for the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage?
