La Roja have confirmed their World Cup 2026 squad.
Spain, the current European champions, are hoping to capture the World Cup title for a second time after their triumph in 2010. La Roja are one of the favourites to win this summer’s competition in the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
La Roja are heading into the competition as the Euro 2024 winners and will look to replicate their consecutive major international title wins once again, similar to 2010 and 2012.
The official squad for the 2026 World Cup has already been announced by the Spanish head coach, and there are many major omissions from the final roster.
After a very hard season, Luis de la Fuente revealed the call-up list on 25th May, which included changes, shocks, and crucial choices in addition to the core of the European champions.
Lamine Yamal, Pedri, Pau Cubarsi, Marc Cucurella, and David Raya are among the star-studded group that the La Roja boss announced at a press conference on Monday. But how many Real Mafrid players have been called up? Let’s find out.
No Real Madrid player called up to Spain’s 2026 FIFA World Cup squad
There isn’t a single Real Madrid player in Spain’s 2026 World Cup for the first time in the competition’s history.
The foundation of the national team is still the core of the Euro 2024 winning squad.
In contrast, eight members of Barcelona’s LaLiga-winning team—including Joan Garcia, Eric Garcia, Pau Cubarsi, Gavi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Ferran Torres, and Lamine Yamal—are included in the roster.
With the club season now over and with the squad announced, the 2010 World Cup winners will now begin their preparation for the competition.
Before facing Cape Verde, Saudi Arabia, and Uruguay in Group H, Spain will play two friendlies against Peru and Iraq next month.
