Hungary vs Switzerland: All-time head-to-head record

Magyarok have historically dominated Nati but the Swiss side have been superior in recent meetings.
Hungary and Switzerland will renew their longstanding rivalry when they clash in Group A of Euro 2024 on Saturday in Cologne. The two nations have a storied history, with both nations playing 46 matches against each other.
Historically, Hungary have had the upper hand, winning almost triple of the matches Nati have won. But the Swiss side have been dominant in the last five matches and enter Euro 2024 ranked 19th in the world, while the Hungarians are 26th.
Hungary enjoyed a dream qualifying campaign, topping their group without a single loss. Coach Marco Rossi has cultivated an exciting young side led by Liverpool midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai. The 23-year-old was Hungary’s top scorer in qualifying with four goals.
Switzerland qualified less convincingly, finishing second behind Romania. However, they are regulars at recent Euro tournaments, reaching the knockout rounds in the last five editions. Murat Yakin’s team relies on the goalscoring of Zeki Amdouni, who bagged six goals in qualifying.
Both sides warmed up for Euro 2024 with contrasting results last week. Hungary cruised past Israel 3-0, while Switzerland labored to a 1-1 draw against Austria after easily beating Estonia 4-0 days earlier.
