The Portuguese star has been on top form this term
With 11 games left, Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr are now a massive 12 points behind league leaders Al-Hilal as a result of the outcome. The Riyadh-based team is undefeated in the league this year, thus they are unable to afford to lose any more ground to Al-Nassr. They must also hope that Jorge Jesus’s side has a breakdown in performance.
Ayman Yahya’s goal was negated on Thursday night by goals from Karim El Berkaoui, Mohamed Fouzair, and Amir Sayoud, sending Al-Nassr to a depressing home loss to lowly Al-Raed.
Although Ronaldo was a little out of sorts and missed a few significant opportunities, the 39-year-old urged his colleagues to grow from this loss and bounce back.
Al-Nassr will return to action on Monday when they play Al Ain in the second leg of their quarterfinal matchup in the AFC Champions League. Ronaldo’s team will try to overcome its 1-0 deficit at home after losing the first leg on Monday.
The centre forward has every confidence that his team can overcome the gap. Al Nassr’s season began so promisingly, but after experiencing a slump in performance, the team is now well behind the league leader and their chances of qualifying for the AFC Champions League are in jeopardy.

The striker discussed his stay in Saudi Arabia and the upcoming match for Al Nassr in a recent interview:
“I take this opportunity to tell the fans: We need you tomorrow to win. Life is built with challenges, but we will search for the win tomorrow.”
”With your support, we are confident in qualifying to the next round. Tomorrow is a DO OR DIE game. Well, that means Inshallah we do a Remontada.”
“I am very happy in Saudi Arabia and with Al Nassr. I’m happy to represent Al Nassr and for me our season is positive because we have had a chance until now in all tournaments”.
