Is Jeremie Frimpong injured? Slot provides Liverpool injury news for Newcastle clash in Premier League Gameweek 2

Frimpong has suffered an injury to his hamstring.
Liverpool have been hit with a big injury blow as a summer signing has been ruled out for the club’s next game against Newcastle.
Jeremie Frimpong, a defender for Liverpool, will not be available until after the international break in September, manager Arne Slot confirmed in the press conference.
The Dutch defender will therefore miss Liverpool’s pivotal matches against Newcastle on Monday and Arsenal on Sunday after hobbling off during the Premier League season opener against AFC Bournemouth.
Jeremie Frimpong is ruled out till the September international break
During the press conference before Monday’s game against Newcastle United, Slot confirmed that the club will be without Frimpong:
“The medical team was completely right about Jeremie, to tell me I had to take him off because he’s out until the end of the international break.”
“I think I got criticised a bit by taking him off. [The medical staff] felt he had an issue in his hamstring. Good call to take him off otherwise he might have been out for longer. We expect to have him back after the international break.”
Bradley returns to training & replacement for Frimpong

However, the Dutch manager has been handed some positive news as right-back Conor Bradley has returned to training. He could play for a few minutes in the game.
Slot revealed that Conor Bradley, who is also temporarily sidelined due to injury, resumed practising with the first squad on Thursday. The team also has Joe Gomez as a right-back option.
“Conor played for a few minutes with us today, for the first time.
“On a potential replacement for Frimpong. Joe Gomez is definitely one of them, but for him to already play 20 minutes – that is already quite a lot. I wouldn’t say he has had a set-back, but he wasn’t able to train three days in a row completely with the team.
“This is completely normal when you have been out for so long. He is training with the team, so let’s see where he is, and if he can be involved on Monday. You cannot prepare for two injuries in one position,’’ said Slot.
Liverpool started their Premier League campaign with a victory on Friday night. They will be hoping to defeat Newcastle and remain at the top of the table.
