Felix was on the scoresheet in Barcelona’s 3-0 win over Atletico
Joao Felix, an attacker on loan at Barcelona, scored against his parent team Atletico Madrid on Sunday night. The Blaugrana defeated Diego Simeone’s team 3-0.
The Portugal international discussed the game and said that in addition to his team scoring three goals, it was ideal for them because it was played away from home and against a defence that is renowned for its tenacity.
He continued by saying that he always loves to play against strong teams and that he had a great time in yesterday’s encounter.
President Enrique Cerezo attempted to defuse the atmosphere in the box by promising a good welcome, but the fans inside the arena exploded with jeers directed at Felix during the warm-up.Felix was under constant attack from the supporters with every touch of the ball, even when he tried to put pressure on Jan Oblak to retrieve the ball. There was more going on inside the stadium than just the animosity between Felix and the Atletico supporters. The football player was confronted by the anger of the supporters on the outskirts of Civitas Metropolitano.
A customised t-shirt with the player’s name on it was set on fire by some, while others defaced his jersey with drink cans, food scraps, and papers.

The young football player stated that he had nothing against the supporters after learning of all of this:
“Atletico fans do not know the things that happened here during the time I’ve been here. The fans don’t know what happened inside, I understand them but I shouldn’t be seen as the bad guy. Even my relationship with Atleti players is very good.”
“As I said before, the fans in the stands do not know the things that happened here during the time I’ve been here. What they say from the outside is that I get along poorly with my former teammates, and that’s not true, as you can see I was just now talking. And everything else, so you can see that I have nothing against them and they have nothing against me.”
He added, “What they say from the outside is that I get along badly with my former Atleti teammates, and that’s not true, I was talking to Samuel Lino and Lemar, everyone who passed by hugged me, they came to talk…”
Felix, who was benched against Napoli during the midweek, was back in the starting lineup for Barcelona and Xavi Hernandez on Sunday. Felix has been injured or on the bench more often than in the starting lineup since the start of 2024.
There is still uncertainty surrounding his whereabouts for the upcoming season, as both parties are unwilling to compromise on their positions.
