Kylian Mbappe’s move to Real Madrid is now official, putting an end to years of speculation. However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing for the French star, as the forward was forced to remain at Paris Saint-Germain and sign a new contract.

But, in the January transfer window, the forward made his intention clear and informed PSG that he wouldn’t be continuing at the Ligue 1 club anymore and would leave as a free agent.

Real Madrid’s patience and numerous attempts to lure the player have not been futile, as Florentino Perez finally has another “Galactico” in the 25-year-old. Mbappe’s ardent fans were raring to greet him with pride upon his arrival in the Spanish capital during a spectacular event at Santiago Bernabeu.

Mbappe is expected to do great things when he joins Carlo Ancelotti’s all-star team. Real Madrid won both LaLiga and the Champions League in the 2023-24 season. It is anticipated that the arrival of the high-profile player will support their attempts to successfully defend their domestic and continental titles.

President Florentino Perez welcomes Mbappe to Madrid

Mbappe finally completed his childhood dream of joining the Los Blancos. Many fans flocked to the Santiago Bernabeu to witness one of the most talented stars of our generation. First, the Madrid president, Florentino Perez spoke to the fans and welcomed Mbappe with a message, “Dear Kylian, you are here. Welcome home and congratulations on achieving your dream. I know very well how excited you and your family are. You were here when you were 13-years-old and we saw how your eyes sparkled.

“You will always remember that day in December 2012 when (Zinedine) Zidane invited you to Real Madrid City, to meet those players you admired so much.

“That love of yours has given you the strength to break all the barriers that led you to this stadium. Since you were a child you have seen that things happen here that are difficult to explain,” he remarked.

“People talk about the magic of the Bernabéu, but we Madridistas know why they happen. They happen because this team and these fans never give up and fight to the end.

“You have achieved your dream because you have never given up. You have been able to overcome all adversity. Thank you for making an effort that many can’t even imagine. 

“Welcome to the club of 15 European Cups. Your family is with you. With you are your parents, Fayza and Wilfried.”

Fans finally got to hear Mbappe’s words as a Real Madrid player. He was asked many questions. The former AS Monaco striker said, “I want to thank the President, Florentino Pérez, who believed in me from the start. Many things happened, but I want to say thank you.”

“I’ve always had this dream and I want to thank Madridistas, who have shown me so much love. I want to thank them from the bottom of my heart, it means a lot to me to be here today.”

“Now, I have another dream, to achieve, to live up to the expectations and standards of the best club in the world. I will give everything for this club and this badge.”

“I see many children here today and I have just one piece of advice. Try as hard as you can to make your dream come true. Today, I am here, but one day it could be one of you.”
