How much do LaLiga referees & match officials earn? Annual fixed wage rate: Revealed
LaLiga stand as second best league after Premier League
The annual fixed wage of LaLiga referees is £124,256. Additionally, they receive £4,205 for each game or £2,102 if VAR is used.
They also receive an extra £21,929 per year for picture rights (since Wurth Group sponsors the kits). There aren’t many jobs in the world where the worker is mistreated for nearly the whole workday. However, such is typically the case when a football game is officiated by a referee.Even if there should be more attention paid to officiating in football, many of them are compensated fairly for their services.
However, the Premier League pays referees on a sliding scale based on experience and rank, ranging from £73,191, £105,257, and £147,258, respectively. They receive £1,116 every game as their participation fee, or £837 for serving as the video assistant referee.
In addition, Premier League referees are paid bonuses that are determined by the calibre of their work and the number of “key match incidents” they correctly call. The organisation in charge of developing and appointing officials for the English game, Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), stated that it was unable to provide exact wage information.

After a compensation disagreement that prevented officials from working at the beginning of the new season, referees in Major League Baseball (MLS) now get salaries that are comparable to those in the best European leagues. The next best-ranked referees are those in Italy’s Serie A, followed by those in France’s Ligue 1 and Germany’s Bundesliga.
Former international official Eduardo Iturralde Gonzalez responded to a question regarding the substantial pay that referees in Spain receive by saying,
“We have only been the best paid for six years. We used to be sixth or seventh. It’s a struggle we started a long, long time ago.
“Before, in my time, we had to have another job. Now there is more professionalism and dedication. Now referees live and think about refereeing 24 hours a day.”
Premier League games are officiated by a select number of twenty full-time professional Select Group One (SG1) referees in England. The SG1 referees in the UEFA Elite referee group, such as Anthony Taylor and Michael Oliver, occupy the highest level of the tree and get additional compensation for overseeing international and European matches.
