FIFA has finally struck a deal for broadcasting rights with India for the World Cup 2026.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will begin on June 11 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City with the opening football match between co-hosts Mexico and South Africa. The final will take place in MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on July 19.
For the first time in its history, 48 teams will compete in the FIFA World Cup. It is the 23rd edition of the quadrennial men’s football showcase competition. The number of teams has increased from 32 in the last tournament.
Canada, Mexico, and the United States will co-host the competition, which will feature 104 games spread over 16 locations in North America.
In India, the FIFA World Cup 2026 will be televised and available for live streaming.

During this year’s World Cup, Indian football fans can also anticipate seeing a few players of Indian descent play. Those are Qatar’s Niall Mason and Tahsin Mohammed Jamshid and New Zealand’s star Sarpreet Singh.

In India, the 2026 edition of the competition will be accessible in four languages: Bengali, Malayalam, Hindi, and English.
Zee Entertainment’s recently established Unite8 Sports television network and their digital platform, Zee5, will provide the multilingual broadcast and streaming coverage.
The Unite8 Sports channel networks will broadcast all 104 games. Hindi commentary will be available on Unite8 Sports 1/1 HD. Meanwhile, English commentary will be available on Unite8 Sports 2/2 HD, along with extra regional language audio tracks or broadcasts in Bengali and Malayalam.
