Lionel Messi reveals post Copa America 2024 plans

The 37-year-old Messi and his national team will face Ecuador in the quarterfinals.
If Lionel Messi is to lead his team to the championship final game in Miami, which is scheduled for July 15, he may have to wait for almost two weeks. In the event that he does not play for Inter Miami on July 18 or 21, the MLS All-Star Game on July 24 may be his next club appearance.
Messi is one of four Herons players who have been called up for the match, along with Luis Suarez, Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets. Prominent MLS players will face off against their Mexican counterparts from Liga MX at Lower.com Field in Columbus, Ohio.
Thirty players make up the All-Star Game roster which was selected by voting from fans, players and the media. Don Garber, the chairman of Major League Soccer and Wilfried Nancy, the head coach of the Columbus Crew have also contributed to the decision.
“We’re excited to host Liga MX at the 2024 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target, showcasing the global and rising stars of our leagues, and the strength of our sport in North America,” MLS Executive Vice President of Properties and Events Camilo Durana declared in a passionate speech prior to the spectacle.
Meanwhile, LIGA MX President Mikel Arriola said: “It is a privilege to participate in the 2024 MLS All-Star Game for the third time. LIGA MX will bring together its best players to form a competitive team. This will be another chapter of this sporting rivalry, which allows us to continue building a great partnership with MLS.
“We are very excited about the opportunity to reconnect and be close to the Mexican fanbase in the United States. I’m sure we’ll have a great experience in Columbus.”
The renowned winger Messi‘s current priorities are leading Argentina to yet another international victory and defending the national crown in the continental competition Copa America.
The 37-year-old who started and led La Albiceleste to back-to-back victories in their three group stage matches is yet to score for his country in the competition.
