Despite still suffering from a knee injury, Lisandro Martinez, a defender for Manchester United, received a call-up to the Argentina squad.
After suffering a medial collateral ligament injury against West Ham in February, the 26-year-old was out for a minimum of eight weeks. The Argentine might, however, be ready to play again sooner than anticipated.
Prior to two international exhibitions against Costa Rica on March 27 and El Salvador on March 23, Martinez is scheduled to report to the Argentina camp. Martinez is anticipated to complete his recovery in time with his country’s squad for those two games, which are scheduled to take place in the United States.
Martinez had a foot injury in September, and since then, he has had a challenging season. The former Ajax centre back missed four months of play as a result, and he just made a comeback in January.

Before suffering a knee injury in the dying moments of United’s 3-0 victory against West Ham last month, he had only appeared in three Premier League games for the team. Reportedly, his recuperation has proceeded according to schedule, and he wasn’t anticipated to return to the starting lineup until the Red Devils’ March 30 trip to Brentford.
Furthermore, United does not anticipate him playing, even though they are letting him train with his country’s squad. If he plays and is hurt, the Argentina managers and players at Old Trafford will probably be incensed.
After Martinez sustained the injury, Erik ten Hag stated the following:
“It doesn’t look good. There is a bad concern. We have to wait for a few days for the diagnosis.
“He is very sad, very disappointed. We all feel really with him. First of all, it is a personal disaster when it is really bad, but also for the team it is really bad because he definitely brings us a lot.”
