Roma are currently 16th in the table.

Four games into the current Serie A season, AS Roma have fired manager Daniele de Rossi.

Roma, who appointed De Rossi as Jose Mourinho’s replacement at the Stadio Olimpico in January, have not won any of their Serie A games this season. They have drawn three games. Last month, AS Roma suffered a home loss to Empoli.

After Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Genoa, Roma are now 16th in the Serie A table. Last season AS Roma had a decent end to the season under De Rossi but the start of the new campaign have seen them perform poorly.

AS Roma are now set to explore the options to replace De Rossi at the club. Below we list four managers who will be ideal for the Serie A club job.

4. Massimiliano Allegri

Massimiliano Allegri is a top Italian coach who is not managing any side currently. AS Roma can consider making him their next head coach if they feel he can turn them into a competitive side once again. Allegri’s most successful stint came during his time as Juventus coach.

He turned the Old Lady into a dominant team in the league and won the Serie A five times. Allegri also has won it once with AC Milan. He is another astute Italian manager who can transition AS Roma’s playing style and make them into a title contender side in the Serie A.

3. Maurizio Sarri

Sarri is one of the top names on the list. The former Juventus coach knows the Serie A in and out having managed some of the top sides and led them to success. His last job came at Lazio whom he managed for three years and led them to a top 10 finish. Lazio’s best time came under Sarri in was 2022-23 season when they finished second in the Serie A.

He is certainly one of the pragmatic coaches and will be an ideal manager for Roma. Roma also boasts plenty of talented stars who will thrive under the former Chelsea manager.

2. Edin Terzic

The most recent name to surface as a possible outsider alternative from outside Italy is Edin Terzic, the former manager of Borussia Dortmund. After taking Dortmund to the Champions League final, where they lost 2-0 loss to Real Madrid, Terzic departed from his position with the team after the end of last season. The manager’s sole accomplishments in his four years at the club were the DFB-Pokal and a near miss in the 2022–23 Bundesliga title.

1. Ivan Jurić

The former Torino manager could be the ideal choice to succeed Daniele De Rossi. Juric has been without a job since leaving Torino in June 2024. The 49-year-old Croatian has managed only Italian teams so far in his career.

He has had successful stints with Hellas Verona and Crotone. Although other names on this list may seem the bigger deal, Ivan Juric has the ability to bring something different to the table.
