The Cameroon international has come under criticism for his poor time at the club.

According to David Ornstein, André Onana recently changed agents, which was intended to result in a better deal or terms at Manchester United. However, his agent may have to look for a move for the custodian.

Following two errors against Lyon, Andre Onana was left out of Manchester United’s match with Newcastle United.

In Thursday’s UEFA Europa League quarterfinal first leg against Lyon, Onana made two costly errors. One was a bad parry that let Rayan Cherki equalize in stoppage time.

Following the howlers, Ruben Amorim chose not to publicly criticize the Cameroonian. Nonetheless, it was revealed early on Sunday that Onana had been left out of the squad for the trip to Newcastle.

“He has switched agents in recent months,” Ornstein explained.

“That was meant for a new contract or improved terms. He may now have to look at trying to shift his player. This was not expected for Manchester United, it wasn’t on the agenda for a new goalkeeper.”

Since joining Manchester United back in July 2023 for $61 million from Inter Milan, Andre Onana has had a turbulent time. Onana has made eight mistakes that have resulted in goals since the beginning of the previous season. This is more than any other Premier League goalie during that time.

It appears that significant changes are imminent for Manchester United’s goalkeeping position, as Zion Suzuki is apparently being considered as a possible replacement. Altay Bayindir took Onana’s place and started against Newcastle. Whether Onana can make improvements in future games will be interesting to see.

Man Utd revive interest in Japanese goalie Zion Suzuki

United have reportedly increased their interest in Zion Suzuki, the goalkeeper for Parma. After a run of mistakes from Andre Onana, Ruben Amorim’s team want to add a new goalkeeper this summer.

Suzuki, a 22-year-old Japan international who has preserved five clean sheets in 30 Serie A games this season, is valued at ÂŁ40 million by his club.
