Manchester United injury update ahead of Sheffield United clash; Marcus Rashford doubtful

Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho dealt with injuries following Coventry’s win
Scott McTominay, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, and Alejandro Garnacho sustained injuries during Manchester United’s FA Cup semi-final victory over Coventry City, according to manager Erik ten Hag.
In a rematch of last year’s Wembley extravaganza, the Red Devils will take on rivals Manchester City in the championship game. However, after giving up a 3-0 lead to draw 3-3 with the Championship team in extra time, the team only proceeded by winning 4-2 on penalties.
Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, and Willy Kambwala sustained three new injuries before the game, which complicated Manchester United’s preparations. This season, there have been more than 60 instances of injuries or illnesses that have prevented a player from playing in at least one game.
During a news conference held in advance of Wednesday’s Premier League match between Sheffield United and Old Trafford, Ten Hag revealed that two of the team’s remaining four players will be ineligible for the Blades’ visit. Four more players sustained knocks during their Wembley outing.

“Yeah, so we had a problem with Garnacho, that’s why we took him off during the game but I think he will be fine,” Ten Hag said.
“Scott McTominay, we have to assess today. That is really doubtful. Marcus Rashford is also doubtful and then there was an issue with Bruno Fernandes, with the hand. But I think he can make it.
“So we have some doubts going into the game tomorrow.”
In the 66th minute of Sunday’s semi-final, Antony was substituted by Garnacho. In the penultimate minute of regulation time and just after Coventry’s last-gasp equaliser, Rashford was substituted, and in the thirteenth minute of extra time, McTominay looked to be in significant discomfort when Omari Forson took his place. Fernandes netted in the penalty shootout after playing the entire 120 minutes.
