Five Manchester United players who could leave after Europa League final loss

The Red Devils will look to overhaul their squad in the summer.
Manchester United’s defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the UEFA Europa League final has left many players’ future at the club uncertain. Some of them have even admitted that if the club want them to leave them they will exit the team in the summer window.
United’s season has now almost finished. On Sunday, they will play their last game of the season and culminate their campaign trophy-less and finishing below the top 10 in the Premier League. With the summer window approaching, we take a look at the top United stars who could leave the club.
5. Kobbie Mainoo
Ever since Ruben Amorim was appointed as the manager of Manchester United, many players seem to have lost their place in the squad. It includes the likes of Marcus Rashford, Antony and now Kobbie Mainoo. Mainoo’s importance at the club appears to be dwindling under Amorim.
The former Sporting CP head coach has very seldom used the player this season. This could prove to be a big risk for the club if it continues. The player might consider leaving the club if things don’t change following United’s Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
4. Leny Yoro
Leny Yoro joined the club last summer window. His debut was derailed after he suffered an injury during the pre-season. But the centre-back made an impressive comeback from injury and instantly became a first-team starter with his brilliant performance.
United’s persistent, devastating performance throughout the season could see the Frenchman consider his future at the club. Now their recent loss in the Europa League final might further influence his decision to leave the club during the summer window.
3. Casemiro
Despite performing a key role in Manchester United’s march to the Europa League final, Casemiro’s future at the club is still in doubt.
Even while Casemiro’s Premier League troubles are still common, but arguably less frequent than they were the previous season, the midfielder has had a redemption arc this season. Moreover, he has really excelled in European matches.
At £350,000 a week, he is thought to be the best-paid player at Old Trafford. His current contract is set to expire in 2026. If United so chooses, they may extend the Brazilian’s contract at Old Trafford until 2027.
Casemiro is reportedly “waiting for a signal” from the Red Devils that would activate this option. United could hope to make some money by selling Casemiro in the summer if they decide to let him go.
2. Alejandro Garnacho
Alejandro Garnacho has raised questions about his future at Manchester United by pointing out that he started every Europa League knockout match but only played “20 minutes” in Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to Tottenham in the final.
The winger’s remarks about his time at United follow Ruben Amorim’s declaration that he would quit for “no compensation” if the board and supporters stopped believing in him.
If United receive an offer that is in line with their valuation, they could end up selling Garnacho. This is estimated to be between £60 and £70m.
1. Bruno Fernandes
If Manchester United want to cash in on Bruno Fernandes and rebuild following their heartbreaking loss to Tottenham in the Europa League final, the player has offered to leave the team.
Brennan Johnson’s goal, which led to the defeat in Bilbao, added to the team’s dismal season. The 30-year-old United captain thinks the same, realising that despite financial limitations, United need to restructure their squad and his sale will help the club gain a big profit.
“I have always been honest. I’ve always said I will be here until the club says to me that it’s time to go,” said Fernandes.
“I’m eager to do more, to be able to bring the club to the great days. On the day that the club thinks that I’m too much or it’s time to part ways, football is like this, you never know it.”
