Manchester United ready to match Newcastle's offer for Benjamin Sesko: Report

Two Premier League teams are now awaiting the player’s decision. Manchester United are prepared to match Newcastle United’s €80 million (£69.8 million) proposal for RB Leipzig attacker Benjamin Sesko.
United are drafting their own offer as there is increasing hope that a deal may be reached soon, while RB Leipzig turned down the Magpies’ first offer because of its structure.
According to reports, Leipzig turned down Newcastle’s €80 million offer for Sesko, which included €5 million in add-ons, because of worries about the payment structure.
Red Devils in talks with Leipzig over Sesko
According to Sky Germany, Manchester United have not yet made a formal offer, but they have informed the Bundesliga team that they are prepared to match Newcastle’s offer. All parties have been in communication throughout the weekend.
The Red Devils were also keen on signing Ollie Watkins, but Aston Villa made it clear that they are not going to entertain any offers for the England international. United are now prioritising signing the Slovenian international.

Journalist Ben Jacobs went on to say that Manchester United and RB Leipzig had talks on Saturday night and are still in close communication.
According to the report, Newcastle are hopeful that their enhanced structure will help it close a deal. The Premier League team’s interest is welcomed by the Bundesliga team. It increases the chance for a bidding battle to further increase Sesko’s price.
Sesko is now under pressure to choose the most appealing project. United are expected to submit a formal offer in the coming days. As the window nears its end, a definitive decision is expected shortly.
