"Manchester United wants to keep Bruno Fernandes," says Erik ten Hag on recent transfer rumours

Fernandes rumoured to be leaving United after end of season
After Manchester United defeated Newcastle 3-2, Erik ten Hag declared that Bruno Fernandes “absolutely” would like to remain. The skipper had previously expressed doubt about the club’s intention to keep him, and Eddie Howe thought his team was denied a “stonewall penalty.”
Following the victory, Fernandes stated in an on-pitch interview:
Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo, and Rasmus Højlund scored goals for the home team, while Anthony Gordon’s level and Lewis Hall’s goal in extra time provided the visitors with an answer.
Gordon tumbled down in the penalty area in the 35th minute with a 1-0 lead after Sofyan Amrabat slipped a boot down his ankle. Both the video assistant the official and Robert Jones declined to call a penalty or send him to the screen.
Ten Hag was asked about the comments. “No, absolutely the club wants to keep Bruno,” he said. The manager was pressed on why Fernandes seems to feel United are ambivalent about their desire to keep him.
“I have to see the interview, maybe [it’s] your interpretation, but everything I know from him he loves Manchester United, the fans of Manchester United and to play for Manchester United. He gives always his best and is an example, even with [his] injuries,” he said.

Bruno loves football and wants to win. That is how I would describe his character. I am very pleased with his performances. It is not easy when so many players are injured around him and he has to carry the team. He keeps in a good level and even a high level, especially in the spring, when he grew to a brilliant level.”
