As per FIFA’s thunderstorm protocols, if there are lightning strikes detected within a 13 km radius of the stadium, the match is immediately suspended, with players being sent to the dressing rooms. A 30-minute timer is started, which is reset every time there is a new lightning strike.
As a result, if there are lightning strikes before or during tonight’s match, the game could be delayed.
