Besides the highly anticipated MLS All-Star game, a few players will also participate in several skills challenges.

The 10-player rosters and special guests for the 2025 MLS All-Star Skills Challenge, presented by AT&T, have been revealed by Major League Soccer and LIGA MX.

Who are the special guests?

US Soccer legend Clint Dempsey, a former player for the Seattle Sounders FC and New England Revolution, joins the MLS All-Stars. He will compete with Lindsey Heaps, a midfielder for Lyon and captain of the US women’s national team.

Mexican legend Oribe Peralta and LIGA MX Femenil star Nicki Hernández (Club América) are the special guests of the LIGA MX All-Stars.

MLS and LIGA MX legends will participate along with two of the top female players of North America in the All-Stars Skills Challenge for the second consecutive year.

MLS All-Star Shooting Challenge presented by AT&T

MLS All-Star Touch Challenge presented by Old Spice

MLS All-Star Cross & Volley Challenge presented by AT&T

MLS All-Star Passing Challenge presented by Bounty

MLS All-Star Crossbar Challenge presented by Gillette

The 4ATX Foundation and MAS Cultura will benefit from MLS and LIGA MX’s competition, which will raise $25,000 for their respective charities.

What is a Goalie War?

In 2025, Goalie Wars will return, with four MLS NEXT Pro goalkeepers vying for a unique, personalised championship belt in a single-elimination tournament.

The goalkeepers try to score on their opponent by kicking, dropping, or throwing the ball while defending their own net. Three 90-second rounds of back-and-forth combat are planned.

This year, each goaltender is allowed to play one “Bonus Ball” per round, which is worth two points rather than one if it is scored, to generate even more drama.
