Mohamed Salah likely to stay at Liverpool for at least 'one' more season

The Egyptian has been linked with a move to Saudi
Mohamed Salah’s angry conversation with Jurgen Klopp during Liverpool’s 2-2 draw with West Ham on Saturday made headlines for less than intellectual reasons.
After making some unsettlingly vague comments to the media in the mixed zone of London Stadium, the Egyptian’s future at Anfield became more and more speculative as he approached the end of his contract.
Though neither the player nor the team has expressed a wish for an impending split, The Athletic’s David Ornstein wrote on Monday morning that the Reds completely expect the 31-year-old to stay on Merseyside for a minimum of another campaign.
The reliable journalist shared a link to the article via X, posting: “EXCL: Liverpool expect Mo Salah to stay & are planning with him for at least another campaign. 31yo has given no indication of wanting out + contract to be addressed in due course. Saudi view is Salah intends to remain at #LFC next season.”
Although it’s “less aggressive” now than it was eight months ago, the Saudi Pro League is still interested in Salah after Al-Ittihad’s unsuccessful £150 million offer last year. Middle Eastern teams might be willing to wait for Salah’s current Liverpool contract to expire.

Following a miserable April in which he managed only two goals in eight games and his overall play drastically deteriorated, the touchline altercation with Klopp on Saturday inevitably led to talk of a possible rift between Salah and his boss.
In some ways, it would be prudent for Liverpool to cash in on the Egyptian this summer if they were to receive a sizable offer. The player turns 32 in June and would be free to sign elsewhere in 2025, so the Reds will undoubtedly want to minimise the possibility that such a valuable asset would leave for nothing the following season.
Nevertheless, considering his remarkable effect at Anfield despite his current decline, he’s a player who really shouldn’t be traded unless Richard Hughes and Michael Edwards are positive that a top-tier successor will be acquired right away.
