This was the first-ever clash between these nations.

The Morocco national football team took on the Haiti national football team for their final group stage outing of the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The Atlanta Stadium will witness this confrontation.

The Atlas Lions have now secured a round of 32 spot in the flagship tournament this year. They have now secured two consecutive wins in their group stage matches and are going to compete in the knockout stage. Their performance was not up to the mark and they will surely learn from their mistakes moving forward.

The Haiti national football team quite easily threatened a stacked Moroccan side today. It was a good performance by them, but it was not enough for them and they failed to secure a point this year.

Five important things we learned from this match:

1. Vulnerable Moroccan defence

The Moroccan national football team looked quite vulnerable in defence. They conceded an early goal in the 10th minute and conceded a second in the 43rd minute. The Atlas Lions must re-evaluate their tactics going into the knockout stages of the FIFA World Cup 2026. They have been doing better, but they will not be very impressed with their performance today.

2. Haiti’s early storm

The Haiti national football team threatened Morocco with their high pressing during the early minutes of the game. This rewarded them with two goals in the first half, but it was not quite enough and they faced one more loss in their campaign. The Grenadiers are now officially knocked out of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

3. Attacking depth made a difference

The Atlas Lions secured a 4-2 win in their game against Haiti, but it was not their performance. They conceded two goals in the first half. Mohamed Ouahbi’s men put in all their efforts on the attacking front and only because of that, they outplayed the Grenadiers. It was more of a calm and composed approach used by them in the final third.

4. Achraf Hakimi, Ismael Saibari, Morocco’s engine

Captain Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari played an important role in the comeback for the Morocco national football team. Hakimi scored the opening goal for his side. Saibari came in with an equaliser in the final moments of the first half. Both of these players continue to come up with consistent performances for the Atlas Lions.

5. Rahimi and Yassine as super subs

The Moroccan national football team had a poor start to the game. They conceded an early goal and Haiti fired another before the end of the first half. Achraf Hakimi and Ismael Saibari scored crucial goals in the first 45 minutes.

Soufiane Rahimi and Gessime Yassine came in as saviours for Morocco in the second half. They scored a goal each. It was a great tactical change by Mohamed Ouahbi. Rahimi and Yassine can be termed as supersubs after their match-winning performances.
