Can African champions seal top berth in Group C with big win over the Caribbean nation?
Atlanta Stadium (Mercedes-Benz Stadium) in Georgia, United States of America, gears up to host the final Matchweek fixtures in Group C of the FIFA World Cup 2026, where reigning African champions Morocco are set to take on Haiti in a thrilling contest.
Group C is in a very interesting scenario. Haiti are already been eliminated after defeats to Scotland and Brazil. Scotland are placed third with three points. Brazil and Morocco are at the top with three points. If both teams win, it all boils down to goal difference, and Brazil are ahead, hence Morocco must win the game big to stand a chance for the top spot.
Mexico did shock the world after holding Brazil to a 1-1 draw in the opening match week. But given, Morocco’s meteoric rise in African and world football, it was nothing unexpected. They even defeated Scotland and they are just a win away from clinching that Round of 32 berth.
However, the reigning Asian champions aspire to finish atop, and for that, a big win is mandatory and hope Brazil drops points or win by a small margin. Morocco set a new record for the most passes completed by an African nation in the tournament’s history after completing 601 passes against Scotland.
Les Grenadiers are already eliminated from the FIFA World Cup after suffering 1-0 and 3-0 defeats to Scotland and Brazil, respectively. They have nothing to lose, and they can go all guns blazing against the Atlas Lions to clinch their first-ever World Cup win or even a draw would see them securing their first point.
They are led by French gaffer Sébastien Migné, who has previously been at the helm of Kenya, Congo and Cameroon national teams. Sunderland forward Wilson Isidor remains the key attraction in the Haiti squad ahead of this fixture.
World Cups have a habit of producing unforgettable moments, and this encounter has all the ingredients to be another memorable chapter. With talented players spread across the pitch and little room for error, fans can expect an entertaining battle between two teams eager to make their mark in the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Players to Watch
Ismael Saibari (Morocco)

Ismael Saibari became the first Moroccan to score in consecutive World Cup appearances against Brazil and Scotland. The Atlas Lions had creative wingers and an excellent midfield to create chances and there were concerns over an elite striker, who could bury those chances into goals and then Saibari arrived.
The PSV Eindhoven also scored the fastest goal of the FIFA World Cup 2026 after finding the back of the net in just 76 seconds against Scotland. He has won several accolades so far including three Eredivise title with PSV Eindhoven and the FIFA Arab Cup and AFCON with Morocco.
Jean-Ricner Bellegarde (Haiti)
The first player representing Haiti to feature in the English Premier League, Bellegarde, born in France brings an immense European pedigree. After plying his trade in the Ligue 1 with RC Lens and Strasbourg, he made a move to English top flight with Wolverhampton Wanderers.
He featured in both the games for Haiti, and if the Caribbean nation eyes any potential upset, Bellegarde must step up and dominate the midfield against a star-studded Moroccan midfield, who will be ruthless to go all guns blazing for a big win.
