Jurrien Timber misses out on Orjane’s squad for the summer competition
As Ronald Koeman gets his troops preparing for the competition, the Netherlands Euro 2024 team will be primed for a major summer matchup in Germany.
Thirty-six years have passed since the Netherlands won the title of European champions for the one and only time. Although on paper the Netherlands Euro 2024 team isn’t as good as Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit and company, there is undoubtedly some exceptional talent among them.
How Ronald Koeman’s team could lineup?
Denzel Dumfries and Jeremie Frimpong flank Virgil van Dijk, Nathan Ake, and Matthijs de Ligt in a five-at-the-back formation, while Frenkie de Jong is still a magician in the midfield. Front players Memphis Depay and Cody Gakpo have the potential to be dangerous on certain days; coach Ronald Koeman simply has to let them loose.
The Netherlands has an opportunity to redeem themselves after missing out on the last two European Championships by competing in Euro 2024. Could they learn from their conquering heroes now that the 1988 victory had occurred on German soil?
Though France, Austria, and Poland wait for the Oranje in Germany, which is where they will be hoping to get past the last eight of a major final tournament since the 2014 World Cup, the Euro 2024 divisions are not very simple.
Check out the Netherlands’ preliminary squad below. Like most of the other Euro 2024 team competing in the competition, the Netherlands have released their roster ahead of time.
