The two nations first met at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the United States. Morocco took a surprise lead through Hassan Nader before the Netherlands responded after the break. Ronald de Boer equalised before Bryan Roy scored the winner late in the game, completing a comeback that secured a 2-1 victory for the Dutch and helped them finish top of their group.

Netherlands 1-2 Morocco – International Friendly (1999)

Five years later, Morocco recorded their first and only victory over the Netherlands in a friendly played in Arnhem. Mustapha Hadji and Youssef Chippo found the net for the visitors, while Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink scored the Netherlands’ lone goal. Morocco produced an impressive display to earn a memorable 2-1 win away from home.

Morocco 1-2 Netherlands – International Friendly (2017)

The most recent meeting took place in Agadir in May 2017. Quincy Promes opened the scoring for the Netherlands before Zakaria Labyad doubled the visitors’ advantage. Morocco pulled one back through Youssef El Arabi, but despite a late push and the Netherlands finishing the match with ten men following Joël Veltman’s dismissal, the Dutch held on to secure another 2-1 victory.
