Brazil will take on Scotland in their final group stage game.

The 2026 edition of the FIFA World Cup is going on at full pace in Canada, Mexico and the USA. A total of 1,248 players are battling it out across 48 nations for the prestigious title.

France, Spain and England are the favourites to clinch the World Cup crown this year. All of these teams have shown why they are among the contenders to win the flagship competition. The five-time world champions, Brazil, are not one of the favourites this year due to their recent performances.

They only came up with decent performances during the South American qualifiers. In their opening game of the FIFA World Cup 2026, they were held to a 1-1 draw by Morocco. A Selecao then went on to secure a 3-0 win against Haiti in their second game. The Santos forward Neymar, featured in neither of these games and might return in their next one.

During a pre-match press conference Gabriel Martinelli said, “Neymar is at a very high level. His quality, speechless. From the way he came back, we can see that he really wants it.”

The 34-year-old is the all-time top goal scorer for Brazil. He will now be looking to play his first game of the FIFA World Cup 2026. Neymar is now training with the first team and is most likely to return to action for A Selecao.

Carlo Ancelotti did not replace the 34-year-old after his calf issue. Currently, Matheus Cunha, Vinicius Jr. and Raphinha are the main men in the final third for the Brazil national football team. The Barcelona star Raphinha was also forced off the field with a minor injury in the game against Haiti, but he has not been ruled out.

Return of Neymar for A Selecao is going to be important and he is most likely to come in as a sub for their last group stage fixture against Scotland.
