Neymar also missed Brazil’s 1-1 draw against Morocco in their first FIFA World Cup game.
Neymar’s selection in the 26-man FIFA World Cup squad was a huge surprise for the fans. However, the football world was elated upon learning they would get to witness the Brazilian attacker one last time on the grandest stage of football.
However, the wait is still far from ending. The Brazilian attacker missed Selecao’s opening game of the FIFA World Cup due to a calf issue. At the same time, multiple reports were making different speculations about Neymar’s return to Carlo Ancelotti’s starting XI.
Some reports claimed that the Brazilian attacker is ruled out for the entire group stage. On the other hand, a few reports suggested that the Santos star could return against Haiti. However, now it’s certain that we will miss at least one more game

Neymar will not travel with the team for next FIFA World Cup game
CBF has announced that Neymar will not travel to Philadelphia to join the Brazilian National Team delegation for their second match at the FIFA World Cup against Haiti.
The former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) star will stay in New Jersey to optimise the final phase of his recovery process, as he’s keen on making his return for the five-time champions.
Without the 34-year-old, the Seleção played a 1-1 draw against last edition’s semi-finalists, Morocco. Carlo Ancelotti’s side lacked creativity in midfield, which is the one thing the former Barcelona star can help with.
However, it remains to be seen when the 34-year-old finally makes his return in the FIFA World Cup.
How many goals have Neymar scored in the World Cup?
The Brazilian attacker has scored eight goals across three World Cup campaigns.
When did Neymar play his last FIFA World Cup game?
Neymar’s last World Cup match was the quarterfinal clash between Brazil and Croatia at the 2022 FIFA World Cup on December 9, 2022.
