Sir Jim Ratcliffe won’t have influence over Erik ten Hag future at Manchester United
According to reports, Omar Berrada will have the last word on Erik ten Hag’s future at Manchester United.
After his departure from Manchester City was made official in January, Berrada is presently on gardening leave and is expected to become United’s new chief executive this summer.
INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired 25% of the Red Devils back in December, at which point they brought him in.
After a disappointing season for the Red Devils, one of the most important decisions they will have to decide upon in the upcoming months is if they’re going to keep or break company with Ten Hag.
According to the Manchester Evening News (MEN), Berrada would be tasked by Sir Jim Ratcliffe with acting as the “de facto kingmaker” when it comes to decisions over Ten Hag’s future, particularly who should replace him.
It appears that Ratcliffe, a co-owner of United, has no desire to ‘intervene and dictate’ what happens to Ten Hag.He has faith in Berrada’s football acumen. Prior to his confirmed transfer to United, Berrada served as Man City’s chief football operational officer.
An additional individual who might have been taken into account is Sir Dave Brailsford, the sporting director of INEOS.The MEN maintain that Brailsford will not choose Ten Hag’s role, despite the fact he is leading an extensive examination of United and is a member of the football board.

Dan Ashworth is another candidate to become the Red Devils’ new sporting director. After expressing his desire to play for the Red Devils to the club’s management, Ashworth was put on gardening leave by Newcastle.Close ties exist between him and England manager Gareth Southgate, who was recently linked to a Manchester United position.Roberto De Zerbi and Graham Potter are two more names that have been mentioned as possible Ten Hag substitutes. After a string of impressive performances, including their thrilling 4-3 FA Cup victory over Liverpool, Ten Hag is predicted to remain in his job until the end of the campaign.
The Champions League qualification of United, who are presently nine points behind Aston Villa in fourth place in the table, might be a major determining factor. However, if United places fifth, they still have a chance to get to the Champions League and have a match in hand over Unai Emery’s team.
