Top five players left out of Canada's FIFA World Cup 2026 final squad ft. Ralph Priso

Les Rogues will compete on the world stage for the third time!
The final list of players to represent Canada in the 2026 FIFA World Cup has now been unveiled. There are some top players from different leagues around the globe who have received the call-up.
Les Rogues have qualified for the mega-competitions two times before but have never secured a win on the grandest stage of them all.
The current FIFA World Cup 2026 squad surely contains some names like Alphonso Davies, Tani Oluwaseyi, Jonathan David and Tajon Buchanan, who are going to play an important role for one of the co-hosts, Canada.
While announcing the final squad, Jesse Marsch said, “It is an honour to name our squad for a World Cup on home soil. These players reflect the many communities, cultures, and journeys that make up this country. They are determined, fearless, and proud to wear Canada across their chest. We look forward to uniting Canadians this summer, and we invite everyone to be part of this journey with us.”
But some players have failed, maybe due to their underwhelming performances or the competition for places.

Top players left out of the Canada squad for FIFA World Cup
| Players | Clubs |
| Jamie Knight-Lebel | Swindon Town |
| Jayden Nelson | Austin FC |
| Zorhan Bassong | Sporting Kansas City |
| Daniel Jebbison | Preston North End |
| Ralph Priso | Vancouver Whitecaps |
Jamie Knight-Lebel
The 21-year-old centre-back is not going to represent the Canadian men’s national soccer team on the world stage. A reason for missing out could be his inconsistent performances for Swindon Town, and Jesse Marsch has opted for options like Alfie Jones, who is a little more experienced.
Jayden Nelson
Jayden Nelson has been a part of 13 matches for Les Rogues, but has been left out this time around. He has only played 11 games for his club, Austin FC, this season due to his fitness issues. The 23-year-old could’ve competed as a winger too, but has received a call-up.
Zorhan Bassong
The Sporting Kansas City playmaker has been very in and out for his club this season due to injuries. This can be one of the reasons why he was not included in Canada’s final 26-man roster for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Zorhan Bassong have also not performed up to the mark this season.
Daniel Jebbison
Daniel Jebbison has not received a call-up and is hence not going to represent Canada at the grandest stage of them all. He has played seven games for his national team and has yet to score a goal. Established stars like Jonathan David and Tani Oluwaseyi are given a chance ahead of the 22-year-old.
Ralph Priso
Ralph Priso has just returned from the injury, and the limited playing time can be the main reason the 23-year-old is missing out on the final 26-man roster to represent Les Rogues.
