Arda Güler will shoulder Türkiye’s hopes in the FIFA World Cup 2026

Türkiye’s youngsters have helped their nation to qualify for the World Cup after 24 years. This, in itself, is nothing short of an achievement; however, for a football-crazy nation, qualification is just not enough.

Australia, on the other hand, has become a regular, as the 2026 FIFA World Cup will be their seventh appearance in football’s biggest tournament. The Socceroos reached the round of 16 in 2022 and will be looking to do far better this time around.

The 21-year-old was part of Porto’s squad that ended their 2025-26 league campaign as Portuguese champions, and his nation will certainly hope he brings the same positive energy and mindset to the World Cup.

3. Cristian Volpato (Australia)

Plying his trade with Sassuolo in Italy, Cristian Volpato is primed to lead the next generation of Australia’s attack. The 22-year-old was part of Italy’s youth teams before switching his nationality to represent the Aussies in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Cristian Volpato, who is a right-winger, started his career with AS Roma before moving to Sassuolo in 2023. His experience of playing in Europe will certainly help as Australia looks to have a tournament to remember.

2. Can Uzun (Türkiye)

Can Uzun is another young talent in the Turkish ranks who can make a significant contribution to his nation. The 20-year-old is coming off a decent season with Eintracht Frankfurt, scoring 10 goals and making 5 assists in 28 games.

Uzun can play as an attacking midfielder or a left winger, and he is carrying a lot of confidence after scoring a goal and providing an assist against North Macedonia in a friendly earlier this month.

Probably the biggest name in the Turkish squad, Arda Güler, has already become a household name at just 21. The Real Madrid midfielder had a great 2025-26 season, scoring 7 goals and providing 16 assists in 57 appearances.

Arda Guler can play as the attacking midfielder or even on the right wing. Most of Türkiye’s attack will flow through the youngster, as the nation’s fate rests on the youngster’s shoulders.
