With the enthralling Euro 2024 finally coming to a sensational end, Luis de la Fuente’s Spain have been crowned the champions of this edition after a thrilling grand finale.

The tournament in Germany this summer proved to be a spectacular watch for global football fans, owing to its high-octane entertainment, underdog stories and unbelievable moments.

5. Ferdi Kadıoğlu (Turkey/Fenerbahce/€21m)

In Turkey’s dream run to the quarter-finals at Euro 2024, one of the breakout stars of that talented squad was left-back Ferdi Kadıoğlu, whose consistent performances throughout the tournament have put multiple top clubs on notice and in a tussle for his signature this summer.

Kadıoğlu was a key part of Vincenzo Montella’s setup, with his tireless work-ethic putting him at the top of the charts for having covered the most distance during the games. Along with his high work-rate, the 24-year-old full-back maintained a strong passing accuracy, with his incredible ball distribution skills enabling Turkey to seamlessly transition from defence to attack.

Ferdi Kadıoğlu is also known for his versatility on the pitch, easily adapting to an array of positions such as right-back and central midfield, while contributing both defensively and offensively.

4. Bart Verbruggen (Netherlands/Brighton & Hove Albion/€18m)

Having started the campaign as the first-choice in goal for Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands, Bart Verbruggen played an integral role in his nation’s incredible run to the semi-finals, with his eye-catching performances making him a hot prospect on the market.

After being placed in the Group of Death’ alongside France, Austria and Poland, Verbruggen made several crucial stops throughout the competition, with an impressive average of three saves per game. 3. Riccardo Calafiori (Italy/Bologna/€30m)

In an underwhelming Euro 2024 campaign for defending champions Italy, defender Riccardo Calafiori was one of the only standout players, whose stellar performances have made elite clubs such as Juventus and Arsenal look to actively strike a deal with Bologna this summer in order to acquire his services.

The 22-year-old defender was an immaculate figure in the Gli Azzurri backline with his elite composure on and off the ball and defensive solidity throughout the matches. Along with being a solid centre-back, Calafiori also possesses a sumptuous passing range (one assist) that enables him to even operate as a left-back if required, making him a versatile modern-day defender.

Having missed Italy’s Round of 16 defeat to Switzerland due to a one-match suspension (second yellow card), Riccardo Calafiori further underscored his importance in the national team setup.

2. Marc Guéhi (England/Crystal Palace/€38m)

One of England’s unsung heroes on their route to the Euro 2024 final was undoubtedly defender Marc Guehi, who consistently produced amazing performances throughout the tournament.

Despite playing at his first major international competition and replacing the ever-present Harry Maguire in the Three Lions’ backline, Guehi stood up to this arduous challenge with flying colours and proved to be a rock-solid figure in Gareth Southgate’s defensive setup this summer.

The 24-year-old centre-back contributed massively with crucial clean-sheets in closely-contested matches and enabled the team to successfully transition from defence to attack with his stellar passing range, which also got him an assist in the competition.

Marc Guehi’s consistency and reliability at the back will definitely have many top teams around the world queuing up for his valuable signature this transfer window.

1. Dani Olmo (Spain/RB Leipzig/€50m)

One of the front-runners for the Player of the Tournament award at Euro 2024 was none other than Spain’s attacking midfielder Dani Olmo, who played an instrumental role in his nation’s incredible title triumph, putting several top clubs on notice in the process.

Dani Olmo recorded an impressive three goals and two assists at the tournament, earning him the Golden Boot along with England’s Harry Kane and four others. With his pace, dribbling skills and vision, the 26-year-old midfielder was a constant threat going forward, contributing directly to goals and creating multitude goalscoring opportunities for his team.
