The Argentine striker could leave the Sky Blues for more minutes.

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) have now emerged as one of the top candidates to sign Julian Alvarez in the summer. The Manchester City striker had earlier made his frustration known due to a lack of minutes on the pitch. Now a move away might be on the cards.

Julian Alvarez’s future has continued to remain up in the air after the striker commented on his intention to play more for Manchester City. This has been a challenging task for the forward given that the Premier League giants already have Erling Haaland.

The former Borussia Dortmund star is the preferred option for Pep Guardiola’s side, limiting the number of minutes on the pitch for the Argentine.

This has led to plenty of speculations regarding the 24-year-old’s future, who could now be on his way out this summer. As they prepare to begin negotiations with City in the coming days, PSG have now surfaced as a potential contender to sign the forward.

The striker is currently competing in the Paris Olympics. In an interview, he did not give any obvious hints of leaving the club but said, “There is a lot of talk. I am focused here [at the Olympics] because it is a short tournament.”

“At Manchester City, I feel very good; I played a lot of minutes. But we will see after the games. First, if I can, I will take a few days off. Then we will decide.”

However, his comments will say otherwise but the striker has been linked with a few European clubs. A possible move away from City cannot be ruled out.

Julian Alvarez could opt to leave the club if he is not guaranteed regular playing time. A player of his calibre who has won almost every trophy possible deserves more minutes on the pitch. Despite being the second choice, he has accumulated decent numbers.

In 103 matches for City so far, he has produced 36 goals and 18 assists across all competitions. Julian Alvarez is now 24 and is entering his prime years. He will certainly hope to get more games instead of being a bench warmer at Manchester City.
