Top five quickest players to reach 37 Bundesliga goals

Bundesliga is one of Europe’s top five leagues and has fielded some of football’s most iconic players. Legends like Gerd Muller, Michael Ballack, Phillip Lahm, and many more top-quality players have played in the top-tier of German league football. The Bundesliga has seen some of the highest numbers of goals being scored in Europe.
This is a result of most teams playing an entertaining attacking brand of football. Since its inception in 1963, the Bundesliga has been home to some of European football’s best goalscorers. Many clinical strikers have played and broken records in the competition. But who has reached the milestone of being the fastest to score 37 goals in the Bundesliga? Let’s find out the top five names.
5. Horst Hrubesch – 47 Games
Horst Hrubesch is currently a football coach and last worked as the head coach of the German women’s national team. He played for some big clubs in Germany like Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV. In his playing days, he used to play as a centre-forward and was known for his goalscoring prowess.
He also made 21 appearances for West Germany and helped his national team to win the 1980 European Championship. While he was playing for Rot-Weiss Essen he scored 37 goals in 47 games which was simply amazing at that time.
4. Timo Konietzka – 45 Games
Timo Konietzka used to play as a striker. He spent most of his career with Borussia Dortmund. He played nine matches for West Germany.
After retirement, he became a football coach and managed several clubs in Germany. As a player, he helped Dortmund win both the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal, scoring 121 goals in 163 appearances for Die Borussen in the process. He scored 37 goals in 45 games while playing for Dortmund which puts him in the fourth spot for the fastest players to reach 37 goals. The forward sadly passed away on 12th March 2012.
3. Erling Haaland – 41 Games
No surprises here. From the moment he first stepped onto the pitch as a Dortmund player, Erling Haaland had maintained a blistering scoring form. It made him one of the best players in the world.
The Norwegian has preserved his record with a never-ending barrage of goals for his current side Manchester City. He is a strong, robust and very athletic player who has a knack for scoring goals. Having a player like him brings a lot of confidence to any team. He scored 37 goals in only 41 games while playing for Borussia Dortmund.
2. Uwe Seeler – 38 Games
As a striker, Uwe Seeler was a prolific scorer for his team, turning into a legend for Hamburger SV with 476 appearances and 404 goals for the side. He also represented West Germany 72 times scoring 43 goals. Seeler was named one of FIFA’s 100 greatest living players by Pele in 2004.
He was the first football player to be awarded the Commander’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany. The fact that his record of taking only 38 games to score 37 goals, still ranks second amidst a list of players featuring active footballers, speaks volumes of his genius.
1. Harry Kane – 34 Games
After playing for so many years in the Premier League for Tottenham Hotspur, Harry Kane cemented himself as one of the best strikers in the world and the Premier League. Kane decided to join Bundesliga side Bayern Munich. After that, he has been scoring consistently since day one.
He continued his goalscoring streak by becoming the first player to score four hattricks in his debut Bundesliga season. Recently he also became the quickest player to score 37 goals in Bundesliga history. It took him only 34 games to score 37 goals breaking a 60-year record in the process. Fans will expect him to perform like this in upcoming matches as well.
