The Spanish right-back has a year left on his current deal.

Real Madrid stalwart Dani Carvajal has hinted at his next destination and it could be to Major League Soccer as the right-back could look for a move to America if he doesn’t extend his contract with Real Madrid.

However, the player has vowed to remain at the club for many years but it’s unlikely as the Spanish club are targeting a new right-back for the next summer window.

During the interview with the Atheltic, the right-back was asked about his future at the club and where he will next see playing himself, Carvajal said:

“I hope to stay here for many years. MLS after Real? It’s a possibility. When I decide not to be at real, I’m not going to play in Europe and the alternatives are much reduced!.”

The 32-year-old has only one year left on his contract which was extended last season but it remains to be seen if Real will keep him for another season and look for a new alternative.

The Spanish capital are looking to sign Trent Alexander Arnold for free next season whose deal with Liverpool expires after the conclusion of the campaign.

Carvajal has been a cornerstone for Real Madrid, a regular member of the team who has played a big role in the team’s many Champions League victories. He was crucial in taking the national team to Euro 2024 and was once again integral in leading the squad to the Champions League last season.

He was also been touted to lift the Ballon d’Or which is set to take place in October but it remains to be seen as he faces competition from other players. If Madrid fails to find a replacement for Carvajal then they might extend his deal for another year.

Carvajal will have to decide next season to remain at the club for another year or join another team, he can also follow his former teammate Toni Kroos’ decision who decided to retire from football.
