The Liverpool right-back has one year left on his contract
The contract of Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold expires in the summer, and Italian reporter Fabrizio Romano has now stated that Real Madrid, one of Spain’s biggest teams, are keeping an eye on his circumstances in preparation for a potential transfer.
The Reds would be in serious trouble if they lost the England international, especially if he left for free. Later this year, during the summer transfer window, could be crucial in determining his future since, barring a trade-off with a new contract, the Merseyside team may have to cash in to keep him from going for free.
Although Alexander-Arnold’s contract is set to expire next summer, Italian writer Romano has now revealed that Liverpool have not yet started negotiations with the player about a new agreement. Jordan Henderson, the former captain, called Alexander-Arnold “outstanding.”
Real Madrid of LaLiga are keeping an eye on his contract status, but as of yet, the Reds have not expressed a willingness to sell.
There are only a little more than 12 months left on his £192k-per-week deal, thus Liverpool is in a precarious position to negotiate should Madrid present them with an offer. The academy graduate may not even be interested in leaving Anfield, therefore the Reds will want to tie him down to a new deal in order to prevent any offers from coming in.

Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich, who is in a similar situation as Alexander-Arnold, has also been associated with Madrid. The Athletic revealed that the Canadian and his team have a verbal understanding with Madrid Florentino Perez.
However, the Bavarians are still determined to persuade him to serve another term beyond June 30, 2025.According to AS, this might go in vain because Davies is determined to join Real Madrid, which may eventually compel Bayern to discuss a deal with them. If Madrid signs Alexander-Arnold and Davies, they may have the finest left and right backs in the world, forcing Liverpool to go ahead with the same move with Alexander-Arnold.
