America’s most prestigious international tournament, Copa America is set to kick-off on June 20. The coveted CONMEBOL organized tournament will have its final on July 14. Copa America 2024 happens to be the 48th edition of the competition.

Last time, in Copa America 2021, 10 teams participated; where Leo Messi’s Argentina went on to clinch their record 15th title. The season witnessed 28 matches, where 65 goals were scored at an exciting average of 2.32 per match.

For FC Barcelona, he scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists this season. For the Brazil national team, he has played 23 games, scoring six goals. He has the ability to fire frequent shots a game, but he needs to improve his tally of on-target shots.

4. Leon Bailey

The 27-year-old Jamaican has been an integral part of Aston Villa’s 2023-24 Premier League season, appearing in 35 games, scoring 10 goals and providing nine assists. The forward has earned a good reputation for his fast pace & dribbling skills.

The Jamaican no. 7 has an impressive tally while playing for his country too. In 30 games he has played to date, he has struck five goals and six assists.

USA football’s poster boy, Christian Pulisic is one of the most high-profile names in Copa America 2024. After having a very successful stint with Chelsea, the 25-year-old signed for AC Milan in 2023-24. He played in most of the Serie A games, netting 12 goals and providing nine assists.

The USA captain is having an illustrious international career as well. Of the 68 international games he played so far, he boasts 29 goals along with 17 invaluable assists.

2. Rodrygo

The young & sensational youngster from Brazil has already rocked European club football with his heroics.  The samba magic he brings with his magical skills has powered Real Madrid to a marvellous 2023-24.

Real Madrid have won the LaLiga & UEFA Champions League this season, where Rodrygo played in 51 matches, scoring 17 goals and providing 19 assists. His impact for Brazil is equally matched, with six goals in 23 appearances.

The man who completed football, the man who achieved it all for club and country, is probably the best player to ever play football. Captain of the defending champions, Messi currently plays for MLS side Inter Miami.

His magical skills along with the unbelievable stats he holds define why he is termed as the “GOAT”.  He played the anchor role in Argentina’s Copa America & World Cup triumphs. The 1.70m magician also ranks second in the list of highest goals scored (106) in international football. Messi also boasts the record of most assists in football history.
