The Polish striker’s deal with the Catalan club will end next season.
In light of his uncertain future, Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski is no longer ruling out retiring next summer. The Polish forward previously stated that he wasn’t thinking about the upcoming season yet, but would consider it based on how he felt at the end of this one.
Nearly all Catalan reports over the past few weeks have stated that Barcelona do not plan to extend Robert Lewandowski’s contract when it expires this season. Although the 37-year-old’s hat-trick in a 4-2 victory over Celta Vigo on Sunday night served as a reminder of his abilities, Barcelona are eager to focus on the future.
Lewandowski believes he has more to offer

Robert Lewandowski thinks he has more to offer Barcelona and might be useful for another season, according to Sport. Robert Lewandowski is fighting for a starting position this season, but if the team brings in a superior player, he would be open to playing fewer minutes, likely off the bench the following season, in order to stay.
At this point in a football player’s career, many players relocate to Saudi Arabia or Major League Soccer (MLS), where the compensation is better or the expectations are lower.
Specifically, a move to the Middle East has been mentioned multiple times, but according to the Catalan daily, Lewandowski finds this concept unappealing.
Without a viable alternative, he does not want to move his family, who have established their own home in the neighbouring Castelldelfels neighbourhood of Barcelona.
Therefore, Robert Lewandowski might think about retiring for the first time in his career if Barcelona decide to let him go. He would only be tempted by another alternative in Europe if it offered him the opportunity to compete at the highest level without having to relocate his family.
Retirement may therefore be a viable option, even though Atletico Madrid’s rumoured interest may meet his needs for a move within Europe, more precisely, Spain.
Will Barcelona extend Lewandowski’s deal?
According to the report, they are not planning to renew his contract.
Will he join a Saudi club?
Reports state he has no plans to move abroad.
What is Lewandowski’s current age?
The former Bayern player’s current age is 37.
