Romelu Lukaku is currently on to AS Roma from Chelsea
Romelu Lukaku asserts that Chelsea will decide if he has another opportunity to make an impression in England. With Jude Bellingham scoring an equaliser in stoppage time, the Belgian team managed to hold England to a tie while he was returning to London.
On the way to Euro 2024, the visitors had twice taken the lead through Youri Tielemans, but the Three Lions had stopped them both times.
Lukaku, who impressed during his return to England, will start at the front of the queue for his nation. He produced a brilliant assist, curling a cross with the outside of his boot to send Tielemans home unchallenged.
The striker is still under Chelsea’s contract, but he is spending the second season abroad on loan in Italy. As of now, he’s scoring goals at Roma, so it’s uncertain where the Blues will end up for him. When asked if he was more motivated to make an impression upon his return, he said simply:
“You’ll have to ask Chelsea”

In 2021, Lukaku made his second transfer back to Stamford Bridge after joining from Inter Milan for a then-club record price. He had a quick start, but he soon faltered and wasn’t even sure to start. Last term, he returned to Inter, and this year, he is playing in Rome.
But while he looked for a loan transfer away in the summer, he found himself in limbo. Before he was able to arrange a temporary swap, he and a few other players trained apart from the Chelsea first team at Cobham.Since then, Lukaku has asserted that the real story about how he was treated at Chelsea has not yet surfaced but will in due course. In October, he stated:
“You know that I don’t like to beat around the bush. I will speak in time, but if I really said how it all went last summer everyone would be shocked.
“There were moments when I really could explode, five years ago I probably would have done that too. Now I have concentrated on what I can do best – playing football.” He also added: “During the summer I saw what people said about me and I trained to be there the day I had to perform. One day I will tell the truth. The others will also have to assume it at that time.”
