Slovenia presumably fancy their chances this year because they have the quality and depth in the squad to mount a serious challenge this time around. As a team, they are led by Jan Oblak and Benjamin Sesko, who have performed well for the national team recently.

Matjaz Kek’s side are unbeaten in the last six matches and have secured impressive results against Portugal and USA. Their friendly matches were good, as they defeated Armenia and drew 1-1 against Bulgaria.

Denmark head into this tournament after three consecutive wins. Benjamin Sesko (Slovenia)

Benjamin Sesko had an impressive qualifying campaign for Slovenia where he scored five goals to help the team book their place in the Euros. He is already being courted by top clubs in Europe who have been impressed by his performance for RB Leipzig this season.

He netted 14 goals in 31 games, most of them as a substitute. Sesko is a tall, physical striker who uses his pace to get past defenders and is potent at set-pieces and crosses.

Christian Eriksen (Denmark) 

Christian Eriksen will be a vital player for Denmark in this tournament as he brings years of playing in the top flight to the team. The player also has the second most caps for the national team after making over 130 appearances scoring 41 goals.

Eriksen’s vision and ability to control the game tempo can only benefit the team. He plays club football for Manchester United with whom he won the FA Cup this season and made 28 appearances scoring one goal and adding three assists.
